My caique shivers for a little bit every morning. We do window time everyday for the first ten minutes of the morning but he always is shivering a bit. It's not visible but while holding him you can tell.

My house is 76f but we had a snow storm so it might not be quite as warm. It always goes away and he adjusts I just wonder anyone else parrot does this

You have to wonder what a tropical bird like a Caique is thinking as he looks out the window at all that snow!

My budgies sometimes feel like they're shivering but they're all healthy birds and I don't worry about it. Budgies are pretty tough when it comes to lower temperatures. I know show breeders that keep their birds in outbuildings that are only heated to the upper 50s in winter and they do fine as long as there are no drafts.

Caiques, unlike budgies, are truly tropical birds from the Amazon basin so they may not be as tough when it comes to low temperatures. I just looked up the average temperature in that area and it's the same year round 25 to 28 C (77 to 83F). The nights are cooler and days are warmer but I doubt it ever drops much lower than 64F (18C) at night.

Unless the temperature in your home gets below the high 60s at night your Caique should be comfortable. Shivering is a normal reaction to being a bit chilly. It generates body heat quickly. Perhaps birds shiver in the morning because they've been just sitting quietly all night and need an extra boost to get warmed up and face the day.

Thanks I get worried over everything I want them as comfortable as possible
