Peanut is doing great!:D She came through surgery fine and apparently was up and bouncing around as soon as she woke up. The doctor ended up doing the cloacapexy, "puckering" the vent, and he did the "hysterectomy" too. He said he thinks we have a pretty good shot of this working. There is a more radical version of the cloacapexy that he could do if absolutely needed. She is still there as he wanted to watch her for a couple days, and we will go get her tomorrow morning as long as she keeps doing as well as she is. We can't handle her for 2 weeks or let her out of her cage. Poor Pea has been through so much...I hope this is the end of the surgeries for her!!

Oh Leanna, this is the fabulous news I've been waiting for! I'm thrilled for you and Peanut! I hope the two weeks pass quickly so you can snuggle your girl as much as you want. This is going to be such a positive change for her. Lots of hugs and happy dances!

Thank you for the update on Peanut, glad she is doing well. She's in excellent hands medically and will soon be back in yours!!

Thank you everyone! We can't wait to go get her! This will be a very long night! She has done amazing with all she's been through! I will update tomorrow when we get her home.

I was following peanut's story and so happy she is doing well. Thanks. For the update!

Ok...Pea is home and back in her cage. YAY!! She has been a little quiet but mostly she is herself. We can't hold her or let her out of her cage for two weeks to give her time to heal. I have 2 collars that they sent home with her but hope we don't have to use them...so far, so good, but it's still early in the healing process. They said to give her as few toys as possible with nothing to shred and no foraging toys, for the time being. She ate and drank as soon as she got back in her home, and then went to sleep. I will keep you updated.

I know you are delighted to have Peanut home and I'm sure she is just as delighted to be there with her people. I'm happy she's home and the worst is over.

So glad to hear Peanut came through her surgery well and is back home with you. please keep us posted on how she is doing!

I am so happy that she came through. I hate it when something goes wrong with pets and surgery is so dangerous, especially on birds. i hope she continues to heal without a problem, good luck. :D

Very happy to know Peanut is home and doing well! She's been through a lot and you deserve so much credit for ensuring she receives the best care available.

Looking forward to more updates, particularly when you are able to handle her!

Excellent news about your Peanut! And I am sure she is happy to be back home in familiar surroundings with her loving parronts ;).

We,as bird/animal lovers, and MOST animal lovers, would give their right arm to save the life of one of their "kids" I know that I would remortgage my house if it came to that to save my Amy or Jonesy. Please keep us updated on her progress!!
