Pellets and Poop

He just throws the natural pellets around or digs through them like there might be something better under them. I’m glad he’s at least eating pellets in the first place. Maybe he’d prefer the next size up on the natural... I got him the one intended for Quakers but he prefers a size up in the fruity ones...? Is pellet size preference a thing?

Regardless... we shall not give up! In the meantime, any pellet is better than all seed.

Foraging is good for them, right? This counts? [emoji23][emoji23]

Status update on the transition. We have finally got him eating natural pellets, I ended up trying wetting them, putting juice on them, slowly increasing their number. None of that worked.

Ive said it before, but this little boy LOVES to eat and he’s going through his first molt so he eats even more. He’s not overweight, he still hasn’t hit the lower end of the normal range for quakers but he’s also only 4 months so he’s still growing.

So what worked? He ran out of fruity pellets this morning so he only got natural this afternoon. No nutriberries, no seeds, just the natural pellets. I figured I’d give him a nice big dinner with extra of the other stuff. Instead, he just started eating the natural pellets. He wasn’t starving by any means... apparently he can’t be given a choice of what pellets to eat because he’ll always fill up on his favorites knowing he’ll get a fresh mix of them the next day.

We have been so blessed by this tiny feathered cuddle bug. I knock on wood every day I comment on his behavior and habits haha.
