1 Sun Conure
Hi.

What would be the best pellets including size of the pellets to give a conure that is 10- 11 months old? Or any age?
what would be the reasons? benefits? and outcomes? from using that particular one ?

Thankyou

My Peachie would be around the same size as your sun, and she eats both TOPS and Harrison's pellets. My 'tiels eat them too, they all have the TOPS mini size and the Lifetime Fine size in Harrison's, the next size up is Coarse and they are FAR too big. For the vast majority of companion parrots they are beneficial in helping to give a good range of nutrients and preventing conditions such as fatty liver, diabetes, cardiovascular disease among many other ailments that can result from feeding too much seed. I feed the two different brands of pellet in order to give a greater variety of ingredients, along with fresh veg every day which fortunately my guys love. They so also get some seeds in the evening, for a bit more variety and as bribery to get them back into their cages when they're being a bit flighty, but they don't ever get sunflower seeds as they are too fatty. The following resource written by Australian avian vet Dr Bob Doneley gives some good info on health benefits and also how to convert to a pelleted diet...

Hope you find this helpful!
