Nanday mutation
Anyone else ever had a bird that came to you with normal feathering, and then suddenly change colors on you? Pepper did this to me. When I adopted him his feather colors were normal colors for a nanday, but since then he's grown in red and yellow feathers. He's seen the vet already and she said he doesn't have a vitamin deficiency, he's not showing signs of stress and he's active and eating. She said she could only think of two things: he's just changing color for no obvious reason (she said her lovebird changed from one color to another but was completely healthy) or he's a nanday sun hybrid.

I don't know what he is, but I call him my little prince and I treat him like royalty. Check out his funky-looking cheeks!

Most likely a hybrid! I have never owned a hybrid, but seen plenty of them.

I would say a hybrid also. Nanday & Sun, still very cute!
