Percy called for ME yesterday!!

My father's side is Polish and we have always used the word 'babushka'. I am so happy about your bird calling out for you - I know that you have been longing for a closer relationship with him, and dealing with some hostility from him, so this is more than a baby step, it's a giant step and I'm thrilled for you :)

Thanks Gary, I'm very pleased :D

It gets better - this evening he asked me to pick him up (a honour thus far only reserved for mom and my son). When I held out my hand, he stepped up, bit me (it was a firm bite, somewhat painful but not at all as vicious as the bites I used to get that left me bleeding 90% of the time), let go of the finger he was biting and trotted up my arm to my shoulder where he sat calmly "doing god knows what" to my hair. I couldn't see what he was up to up there but I let him do his thing. When I moved around with him, he stayed calm and didn't bite or lunge at all. I then walked him over to the kitchen where my mom happened to be...and it was "all bets off". He just wanted her and very quickly jumped from me to her, LOL! I just went with it and said "have a nice visit with granny" and left the room. All round a positive encounter. :)

I have a question about his recent behaviour towards mom but I will start a new thread for that.
