Pete is cracking me up right now

He has learned a new word he likes: baby. He keeps saying things like, "Hey, baby", "Hello, baby" and "Whatcha doin, baby?" The way he is saying baby is really funny, too. He's drawing it out like baaay-beee. He just started doing this about 10 minutes ago.

My father in law has a grey and when his wife is doing dishes the bird goes "hey sexy" "good job sexy" whenever im there im always cracking up, thinking man this has to be distracting! lol

Oh, Pete has a really high voice, too. But, so did his former owner even though he was a guy. Pete's voice is higher than mine. When my mom hears him over the phone she always says he sounds like a woman.

It's too bad I didn't get this guy when he was younger at the rate he's learning new words. I don't think he'd be a Mishka, but I bet he would have a pretty darn good vocabulary by now if he had been talked to more.

That's so exciting! Do you actually teach a bird, as in, do you repeat something over and over to him, or does he just pick up from hearing you talking in passing? Amigo came to me with "Hi There", and not knowing that cockatoos aren't great talkers, thinking that all parrots could mimic, we worked on "Hola, como estas" for a long time, to no avail...

HAHA Clifford calls me pretty bird! I'm flattered. He only does it in the morning after im all ready for work.
