Thanks Allee!! That's Gabby, my 19 yr old first-born of three from wild-caught parents. He is a miracle baby; his parents were diligent incubators but stopped feeding him after about 3 days. We checked him each day, but on day 4 my mom was sick and stayed home from work. She peeked inside the nestbox and found Gabby greyish-blue and cold, nearly dead. She called a breeder-friend and was quickly schooled in the art of tube-feeding and received a frozen ice-cube tray of formulae to start. At that age it was 'round the clock for many weeks. Thankfully she had a kindly supervisor who allowed her to bring Gabby to work and feed him in her office between patients! This process was repeated the next year with Abby, and two years later for Squeaky. Subsequently the nestbox was removed - no more babies for lazy birth parents!!

Gabby is the sweetest bird in the flock; indeed his face has a distinctly juvenile appearance in contrast to the other four Goffins.
