Samantha, TaiMai(?) is awesome.
You must be so happy I know I would be ecstatic.
He looks healthy, happy and content.
Give him time to settle down, getting used to the new environment, people, sounds etc. Let him come out the cage on his own, and he will eventually.
I LOVE the cage, toys and the top playpen is so awesome.
Good luck, keep us updated

Thanks he actually is in the process of getting a new name. Mai Tai is my sun conure, who also got a cage and more toys today. We are thinking for names for this guy he is DNA'd male, 10 years old and I am so happy to have him. I tend to over buy on the cages I think. The dun conure got a african grey sized cage :) There is a thread for his cage too.

Thanks for the compliments I already love him.

No way, bigger cage = more room for toys :p. Congrats on your new addition - I'm very jealous.

Congratulations! I can't wait until my Ruby comes home. If she had been a boy, he would have been Oscar.

Nice photos. Is the grey a TAG? I think I see a bone colored beak which would be a Timneh. My Rosie is always a bit nippy when inside the cage. It is their home afterall. We are here for you should you encouner any issues. Have fun. Cages are so very nice.

Awwww, what a lovely tike you have, he looks wise I can tell it in his eyes.
The cage is awesome!
Can I ask what caused his foot to turn?
Bless you for taking him in.

Yes he is a TAG. His foot was injured when he was a baby and the vet did surgery on it to make it functional. That is the extent of what I know on his foot. He is sweet and his nips are at least not trying to take a finger off. I just put him from cage to top and top to cage when it is bed time. I am trying really hard not to over handle him although he seems to like to be held I am jsut worried I will stress him out.

He seems to really like the cage and I may have too many toys but wanted him to have a variety. MaiTai also got a new cage but I made him his own thread. This is why nothing is free :) I got both birds free, Mai Tai came with a cage (too small for my liking) and I tell you bird shops are dangerous for me I spend way too much lol

Your bird looks great and your cage setup almost looks as good as your bird. I would be interested in reading about updates on how things are going with your African Grey and what you decide to name him. Although I have no intention of purchasing an African Grey, I am curious as to what it is like to have one as a companion, and if they are really as intelligent as advertised.

Wow, congratulations!! You must be so excited. You're going to love him, I guarantee. Greys are awesome birds with a boundless love of learning, and they make fantastic companions that will entertain you all day. He's also very handsome. Sorry about his foot, that's a rough start in life for him. At least it's still functional instead of just becoming a nuisance for him.

May I ask, what names have you thought of (if any)? I absolutely love choosing names.

Galaleo
Einstein
Forrest (like forrest gump for his legs)

There are several AG named Einstein and for good reason. Forrest is cute. You could add an er on the end for Forrester.
