Thanks to all the wonderful advice on here I am definitely picking up the 5 yr. old Conure on 9/29/12 when I get home from my cruise. The woman has only had him for 4 months. I'll be his 3rd owner & he has some minor plucking issues as the first owner had him in with another conure that passed away this year.
I can't imagine how this poor little guy feels. He lost his best friend & then gets sent to a new home, then before he can settle in she has to move & re-home him again. I know that I can give him a good forever home. She was happy to hold him for me as I have the experience, resources, time & patience that he will need.
The humane society Vet used to work at an aviary so I have daily access to questions, concerns, etc & because of the amount of time I volunteer he gives me a discount on all vet services.
Mr. Precious (OWA) is my first & only bird experience so I'll probably be bugging the Conure group now with "Is ________ normal for a conure?" But everyone here is always quick to lend a hand with answers.
I'm starting to get REALLY excited! As always, THANK YOU to everyone here. You have revolutionized my relationship with Mr. Precious & will continue to help me be the best Parront I can be!!
