Pictures of the first bird I ever had, Jake the Cockatiel.

I was going through a box of old pictures and came across a few pictures of the first bird I ever had. I didn't even remember us having any pictures of him so this was a wonderful treat for me. His name is Jake. He now lives with my grandfather. We gave him to my grandfather a few years after we got him from my uncle, who had found Jake in his backyard. Those two get along great. Even my grandfather's dog likes Jake and doesn't bug him. Jake lives in the dining room by the porch and when the weather is nice enough he gets taken out onto the porch in his cage. I know this bird is spoiled to death living with an old man and his dog. It's just the 3 of them. Every time I visit my grandfather Jake will whistle for me. While we had him he learned Pop Goes the Weasel, Jingle Bells, and Bridge on the River Kwai. He likes to mash any variety of those songs together. He also likes to say "hello baby!" it's the only thing he ever learned to actually say. Despite having conures and budgies, I still have a soft spot for cockatiels. I LOVE their whistle.

Awww! We had cockatiels when I was younger also. However the neighbor kid opened our door and one flew away. But we had he other for years. I don't remember their names but I loved them so! What a great find! Frame them!
