Hello all
I was wondering are Plastic straws safe for birds and Does anyone use them in homemade toys? And would a toy like the following be harmful to a bird?
Thanks ;)

I give them to my quaker parrot to play with, also wine corks to chew up and shred, the bottle caps from gallons of milk he has a plain toothbrush he likes to carry and drop also the tops from the cannister type cardboard container from oatmeal boxes I give him the plastic tops which he also likes to carry around, qtips he likes to pick up carry and shred the cotton off. bamboo skewers with the sharp points clipped off, plastic siver ware not the knives but the forks and spoons ect. Alison and sweetie pie:D

Birds seem to love them. I cut them short for easier handling. Totally safe.

We use the wacky whirly straw cutters to make straw toys for our birds and they love it!

I use abot 20 and tai then togethe. Vile just love this toy

Mishka loves his straws
I tie a big bungle of them together tightly, Mishka spends ages trying to separate them.
Absolutely safe for birds
