Play biting HARD

I've clicker trained Echo to fetch a ball, put an object in a cup/hoop, wave hello, and to put coins in a piggy bank. I'd like to start training her more useful behaviors now that she's learning. First of all, she play bites really hard. She'll stop if you say no but then starts again. How can I teach "gentle"? Secondly, she's starting to fly for the first time since she was born. I'd like to train her to fly to me and come when called. Any advice?

That's awesome you've taught echo so much already As long as echo isn't clipped she'll learn to fly pretty good by herself. never force her to fly(this teaches her your hand is a unsafe place to be and she'll avoid it). Try calling her and when she eventually flies to you praise her and use a clicker and food reward.

Puck would play bite too hard when he got over stimulated or excited. I would pry my finger out of his beak, and tell him no/ouch/that hurts/no biting/gentle in a soft voice to help him calm down. Sometimes I'd take his beak between my fingers while doing it, to keep him from biting more, which he didn't seem to mind. It seemed to help momentarily, but he'd soon forget.
