I have a green redneck parrot named disco. It is almost 3 months old.We bought it when it was only 6 days. After a month we found another injured parrot who couldn't fly.We showed him to a vet who inreturn told us that it won't be able to fly at all.We keep both the parrots in different cages as they don't get along.

Disco is really close to me and doesn't like to stay in the cage much. Recently I have noticed that some balds spots have started to appear on his head along his ear and eye section. Those areas are pretty visible now.Though some feathers have started to grow back near it's beak.Still what worried me is that it continuously scratches itself with it's feet or is always cleaning itself. We live in a very cold area and I have tried giving him a bath but he doesn't like it much and gets scared. Please suggest me what to do.I am really worried.

As for his daily diet:
I give him raw rice
Apple now and then
bread
and peas

It is possible he is molting? Doe she have a lot of pin feathers?
And yes, his diet will need to be changed.

Since we aren't avian vets we can only say opinions, make sure to get your birdie to a vet.

Here's my opinion
itching isn't good, this can sometimes mean liver problems. He definitely has something wrong though as the feathers are falling out and he's not plucking them(they can't reach there). It seems to soon for a molt for me, is your local vet a specialist in parrots? Vets who see dogs and cats often aren't qualified for parrots and sometimes make bad educated guesses. I make sure that any vet I go to is avian certified.

This is extremely important, the diet you are giving your bird is very unhealthy. He is getting almost no nutrients from the diet you are feeding him, I'm amazed he has even lasted this long. Please read this article about parrot diet, it has a lot of great info about what you should be feeding your birds.
The 6 Components Of A Healthy Parrot Diet

Do you have any pet stores near you? Try to find a good quality parrot pellet, something that isn't colored(colored pellets are full of sugar).

I'm hope your ringneck gets better :( It's very scary when they are sick.

At only 3 months old i doubt diet is the cause of the bald spots. More likely it's mites. Goggle feather mites .

Change the diet first off. I can't believe he still has energy in him if that's all he ever ate. Whether it's cheap food, or sharing your meals, just something, anything with more nutrient s will do, just make sure you avoid toxic human foods. Get him to an avian vet. Yes, they are more expensive and often a few hours away, but step one besides he vet is to change his diet. Good luck.

Human foods are okay, but your bird needs more than just that. Buy some parrot seed- He would probably love that. You should still probably take your bird to the vet, just in case. Best of luck; I hope your friend is okay.

What did you feed him from 6 days to weaning?

What's his name?

Please follow the links provided to give your birds the best start in life...

Good luck...

Raw rice can be dangerous. When it cooks it doubles in size, and it does the same in the bird's belly so if he eats to much it can get bad. Make sure to give him fruit and veggies every day!

Thank you everyone.I have showed him to a vet he said it's molting. It is getting small feathers on it's head back.As for the meal tips I really appreciate your feedback.

Kind Regards :)

Glad it's nothing more serious although I am also wondering what you fed him from 6 days until weaned? And why you got him at such a young age. Unless there are other complications we don't pull our babies for hand feeding until they are 10 to 14 days old. A six day old baby is very fragile and needs proper nutrition, and now that he's molting it is even more important that he has the proper nutrients to not only support him and all of his body systems but also to support his new feather growth.
