Hi everyone I have a problem and don't know what to do about it. I just got a pair (brother and sister) of green cheek conures about three weeks ago they are two years old and seem to be bonded, I have caught them mating. The problem that I am having is I woke up today and found that the girl plucked her chest not to the skin but to the down feathers. she is a little under weight and seen the boy bitting at her when she goes for the food. any help would be great.

thanks

put them in seperate cages near each other and do not allow any eggs to hatch as they are brother and sister. That way they can still see and talk to each other but not able to mate

a brother and sister should never be considered a pair and kept together once they reach sexual maturity in my opinion. separate cages close by and anytime together supervised closely NO MATING. The result could be disastrous

Save that girl and get a second cage for one of them today. Hurry. Don't forget some toys and anything that makes here comfie, like a cuddle buddy or hut.

Today... please.

I thought that they should have a separate cage but that is how they came to me. and I have NO intentions on breed the two.

Please get them a separate cage. If the male keeps biting her when she goes to get food shell starve to death.

If you haven't already, take them in for gram stain and blood panels to ensure they are healthy and that the plucking isn't health related.
