I am looking at parrots STILL and I like the look at poicephalus parrots but what is the cost per month and time out of cage per week. (i say week since i have a lot more time on weekends! TRUST ME) I also want to know the least expensive one. btw i am probably not gonna get a cockatiel since night frights are very important and i just cant keep my cats and dog out (loose door cant fix)

Doors are fixable! Replace hinges, locks, etc.
I would seriously advise you to wait since your obviously worried about costs since you wanted to know cost for the third time. You can't put the time limit on your birds, your acting like it's a chore and how much time would suffice.

I dont have the money to replace it nor my parents i am saving for a bird like cockatielish to around there and i am browsing becuz im a 11 year old who has a crazy love for parrots and wants to know a lot of info about them

The time is the same. It doesn't matter if you have a grey, a macaw, a conure...whatever. A smaller bird doesn't require less time. A bird is a bird, and for it to be tame, happy, healthy and sane it has certain requirements. The size if the bird means absolutely nothing....except maybe a little less food requirements.

I am with Mikey.. You can't put a cost on a bird.. One bird might eat his pellets perfectly, another might chuck pellets everywhere and go through a bag 10 times quicker...
Your bird might destroy your ipod, your phone, your computer.. That is hundreds of dollars replacing your things..
Your bird might LOVE toys and need new ones every single week.. Others might not be a huge fan of toys so that will be cheap!!
You have already been told MULTIPLE times that a bird is very expensive!!
Every single bird needs alot of interaction and time, just because the bird is smaller, doesn't mean it is less important !
If you aren't in love with one species, and just keep changing your mind, then what is going to stop you from changing your mind in a months time?
You might get a bird, then in a few weeks think, hmmm, no, i prefer a conure now!
Do your research, find a bird that you LOVE and in a few months time, if you STILL like that species, then get it..
So many people buy birds suddenly, and then lose interest because they weren't the bird they really wanted...

exactly i want to find cuddly birds who need a few hours a day and dont require the food of a macaw tho and i just really want a feathery friend badly cockatiels are out of the picture btw and i want something bigger than a budgie i have a lot of time on weekends and a few on weekdays and will love me back I will be quiet

Tab xo thats my problem i used to love cockatiel but i couldnt be able to own one so i searched for other ones and i couldnt fit their needs and i already own a budgie ._. and i know its a lifetime commitment i am up for it!

I suggest getting the book Good Parrotkeeping. It has a lot of good species information and practical information about parrots of all kinds. For prices for birds check birdbreeder.com. That would give you an idea of what you are looking at. If you have your heart set on a kind then you can call/email the breeders to get more information.

Hi Dude589, I don't mean to sound harsh, I but in my honest opinion I think you should really wait to consider a parrot until you are older
How do your parents feel about another bird in the household? Did you tell them you're thinking about it? Do they like birds, and are they maybe willing to get a family bird who everyone could enjoy and take care of?

Thanks mamafuzz and ravensgryf and tab xo and everyone! I did a lot of searching after posting this thread. for now i will try to see if i can work with parrots 
and i will wait a few weeks. also tab xo I did searching and a CONURE (lol from wat you said) is a good bird in my opinion. but i am searching info

So very true. The real difference is food, toys, cages and play stands. The bigger the bird the higher the cost. You are eleven years old, you got a lot of living to do. It doesn't sound like your parents a really on board with you getting a parrot. If I were you, I would wait until I was out and living on my own. That way, you can buy or adopt the bird you really want like a Macaw or Grey.

At the SPCA around here you have to be at least 13 (might be older) in order to volunteer. I'm not sure how any bird rescue would be though I would think they would be similar.
I'm curious as to how hand tame you have gotten your budgie to be. Most pet store budgies aren't tamed and taming yours would be good practice for later.
