Poor thing, please someone adopt.

Another option is if anyone knows any breeders locally that would take this bird in? It would be much happier in an aviary with a companion and some semblance of a normal life. Does anyone know what species it is? It he a sulphur crested or something else? His crest almost looked red in that last picture, maybe a salmon crested or something? (I don't know my 'too species sorry, apart from the native Aus ones we get around here like the sulphur, red tailed black and major mitchell. That's about the only species I know by sight) but if he is an unusual species (no idea what prices are overseas) maybe a breeder who would at least give him a stress free life and diet would want him?

Edit- maybe if offered $50 for just the bird or something they'd take it. Then they could sell the cage separate to someone else?

Poor dear looks like he's been plucking. Urgh. I can't stand stuff like this.

Awwww, poor thing. By the way a lot of people have been treating animals now, it seems like the word humane is just going to be another word for inhumane!

Well....... I e mailed them and just asked if they could tell me a little about the parrot. I decided to give them a chance, and think wrong to judge a book by its cover. Maybe, just maybe, they got this parrot from a parent and can't care for it. Maybe not. Maybe they are just uncaring... But I thought I would give them a chance to explain first...

Nope. They never got back to me. :(

omg :( :(
and your stories now I want cry... stupid humans, yet another reason why I prefer animals to humans :(

In alaska, you have to SEE the animal, get some Proof that its been abused in someway, pictures would be good if they were going to do anything about the animal. or you can request a animal welfare check if you havent seen the animal yourself. both would work in this case I think.

These people won't return my e mails so there is nothing I can do.

sad, but yea, thats the way it is sometime.. maybe there will be hope next time. cant win them all, thankyou for trying though. wish there were more people like you.

That is horrible. I love Craigslist because that is where I found the bird I am adopting this weekend (Senegal named Max). But it is painful to see many of the ads as well.
