Want to get an opinion on Poppys feathers and see if it's feather bronzing or somthing I should be concerned about. Lots of black tips on her body feathers. Tail feathers look great though.

They look like stress bars... DON'T WORRY!!! Totally normal for a baby just weaned. They will molt out.

Monster had them when he came home at 8 weeks, not one to be seen these days!

Ok. I can handle that. I'll wait for a good molt and hope for the best. Thank you!!

Phoe, my crimson bellied, looked a lot like that when he first came to us. The girl who had him before carried him around in her hoodie everywhere and it was really hard on his feathers (he was 7 months when we got him). All his tail feathers were broken as well. He is moulting now and the black is disappearing. I think Poppy will do the same:)
Still waiting for all his tail feathers to come in, though:(

Oh good. Thanks so much. Glad it's not too rare to see. Even more of a reason to be eager for those gorgeous big girl feathers to come in:)

Both of our babies have some bronzing. Monte is 6 months and Blue is 4 months. They both love to snuggle and spend time in our hoods, jackets... We should continue to do what makes them and us happy right?

Baby feathers are more fragile and I'm told that young birds often have more feather bronzing than adult birds! Peeko had a lot when he was young but they molted out and haven't come back.
