Preening too hard? Help!

Both of my conures (sun and green cheek) are starting to preen me rather hard and they seem to be biting harder and harder each time. My green cheek conure has gone from occasional small bites to full on taking bits of flesh off my hand and eating them. My sun conure… who I’ve had for only two days is now starting to preen my harder. Not sure if she realizes she’s doing something wrong but it hurts nonetheless.

How do I stop this in it’s tracks. I’ve heard so many mixed answers. Some people say wrap them in a towell when they do something bad. Others say leave them alone by themselves in timeout. Others say ignore it.

Help?

Ignore it, ALWAYS ignore it, don't react at all when it happens. If it hurts a lot, then you can give them a short time-out.
Try target training and more toys. Both are helpful.
And most important, remember it takes time.
