Pros and Cons - Snuggle huts

Sorry in advance, i tried to search for older posts but couldn't find anything. I know this is a topic that has been discussed before.

Apart from the loose thread dramas i would like to know what sort of pros and cons of having snuggle huts are. A lady who sells the aviator harness i am looking at buying also makes snuggle huts so i was thinking about getting one in the same order.

FWIW I tried a snuggle hut with both my sennies and neither one wanted anything to do with it.

Okay, well, here are some pros:
1. It's a comfortable way to get your bird to fall asleep.
2. Your bird will feel warmer.
3. Your bird might feel more secure.

Cons:
1. It *is* dangerous. Some birds ingest the fluff without the owner's knowledge.
2. Birds, like you said, have gotten caught in the threads.
3. Birds have chewed a hole through the hut and have gotten strangled.

If your bird already is used to a hut, you should definitely have one. If your bird never really knew one and seems fine without it, the hut isn't worth the worry and trouble.

If you do end up buying the hut, just make sure to check it regularly for loose threads, missing fluff, and holes.

Yup, all of those posts are spot on! Using them really depends on your bird. Avery is lost without her Snuggle Hut, and because of that I have to take extra care of it and make sure it's safe. I find washing them right away helps get rid of the loose fuzz, if any. She really doesn't chew on it though, and she likes to sleep in it a lot, so it's kind of her special place.

My gcc hated the Happy Hut! (I ended up giving it to my rats who loved it, LOL) He would attack it and never went inside. I heard some horror stories about birds getting their feet into threads and breaking them. So I'd stay away, just in case. I was thinking about making some hiding place for my lovebird from a cardboard box or wood.

When I got my Conure the pet store said I for sure needed a "Happy Hut" but I recently had a friend that had a bird perish because she got stuck in the hut with her foot. So I declined.
I could tell Marley (my sun conure) seemed to want to snuggle into something when she would sleep, so I did some research... I found this thing called a Chube. It more or less is a huge peice of cardboard. Like a giant toilet paper roll that is really thick. I secured it to the top of the cage and she loves it. She gets in it every night and I know she is ready for me to cover her cage. I think I had to order it from the UK, but I would definitly order more if this one wears out. She has nibbled it a little, but I think she knows it's her house so she takes care of it.

I use a plastic chain with fleece thu the chain and tied on both side but it still hangs down. They can snuggle with it if it is place near the preach they like to sleep one.

I have a snuggle hut, not that my bird uses it often, but I have it incase my bird gets cold or whatnot. I do not see a problem using them as long as you check them regularly and definitely wash them. There are plenty of other birdy bed options though, I have seen tents before.

Mango my lovebird came with a snuggle but. It seems lovebirds often have them. She loved it. A bit too much. She'd get territorial and bite anyone when they tried to let her out and she'd never come out of her cage.

If she even hops between my elbow, body and couch she puffs up and grinds her beak. That means 'THIS IS MINE DONT GO NEAR ME OR ILL TEAR YOU TO SHREDS' essentially.

So while she behaved just fine with it, it got her very very hormonal. So no snuggle hut (or any small space) for her
