So!!! Past couple of days I've been doing 10-15 minute training sessions in the morning and in the evening teaching skittles to step up using a treat and a stick, and this evenings session I just KNEW she's getting it. Such a clever girl, she started lifting one of her legs the second I showed her the stick, I said step up and she went straight on. One time I didn't even have to say anything! I even tried with my finger and she hopped on, was so rewarding I think even for her, I'm really proud of her and I let her know that

Haha, we still have a long way to go but I'm just so impressed with her! Oh and believe me, I get jealous too ha i do go green with envy when people have such amazing bonds with their birds! My two budgies are too bonded with each other to bother with me all that much, so I'm hoping skittles will be my 'partner'

Um, I'm not sure there is such a thing as a 'well-behaved' bird. lol. Just obedient and compliant owners.

I have a 'super-glue' bond with Skittles.

He will bug me for a treat and when I give him one and happen to leave the room, he drops his treat and follows me. Like being with daddy is more important than a treat he was begging for. He cracks me up.

Down side is, I can't have him out when someone else is here, he gets super possessive and will attack people if they get too close to me.

All kidding aside, we do have to be sure we are the ones doing the training and not them. I found that out the hard way. But it is cute watching them try.
