Hey-o! Thought I'd ask for some advice about Quasar. He's a delight and active. He's eating his veggies, likes his nutriberries, and we're working on pellets. Just one minor problem. He nips. No... He NIPS. His main target is my fingers through the bars of the cage every time I service it. Opening cage doors? Nips. Lean against the cage accidentally? Nips. Taking pictures? Nips.

He's not hand-tame, which I don't mind, but I'd like to curb his mouthiness when accessing his cage. Have any tips? Ideas? Stories?
And burb tax, because we love bird pix:

GCCs in my experience can be a bit prone to "cage aggression", cos they can come to see the cage as their territory. Quakers get like that too, and as a matter of fact my teeny tiny little red headed lorikeet gets VERY bitey as well if I try to change water/food dishes or switch toys while he's in his cage. In fact the ONLY time I don't get bit is when I give him his breakfast first thing in the morning cos he's pretty keen on his breakfast. He also bites me if I try to get him out of his cage so the only thing for it is to let him get himself out of his cage and wait until he has done so before I attempt to do anything else inside His Royal Highness's environment - cos I am just his indentured servant after all
