Hello I have gotten a health checkup from one vet but isn’t a bird expert but said my macaw looks healthy. I wanna just find out if this is normal instead of going to spend 100$ on another check up. On my macaw face sometimes I notice small patches of very light blue colour is this just the blood or should I be worried??
The photo shows it a little hard to see through the camera

I believe this is normal appearance, bluish blood visible through fine skin. Perhaps our current macaw parronts will chime in.

Whenever possible, visiting an avian certified vet or equivalent is best. "Exotic" vets lack specialized species training to make prompt and definitive diagnoses.

Wow, that blue circle is something to be concerned about!

J/K - I think Scott is correct, flush of blood vessels near the surface.

More use to seeing blood flowing under transient skin. A blue blush under white skin would make sense.

Money and Large Parrots is like money and boats. Begin planning on much more as a full-on medical examination can quickly add up to a thousand dollars with full blood spectrum, gram stain, DNA sex test, full hands-on physical and possible x-ray or Microchip.
