Question about my new Eclectus

Well I think this cage will be good enough for now as I don't have the funds to get a really good cage. Once I save a little money he'll have he mansion he's always wanted lol. He usually spends all his time on top of his cage tho since I always leave it open. So I'm not so sure if I believe he's 7 - 8 years old. Maybe if the black never fades he might be

Jack is a Solomon Island. When he said a little black at the top of his beak, I thought he meant like Jack. Honestly, you have me a little worried that his beak still has that much black yet.

Yes, having too much black left on the beak after the one year mark can be a sign of sickness or stunted development. But some ekkies just legitimately take more than a year to lose all of it. It's a matter of degree, I think.

For instance, it was definitely a sign that something was wrong in my Bixby, who died earlier this year of PDD. But look at the extent of the black coloring left on his beak. He was almost 1.5 in these pics. Far heavier than what Jack has, no?

I'm not saying that Jack definitely has no health issues, but I really don't want to worry you unnecessarily, either. I know you've had him tested extensively after what happened with Raja, and nothing crazy showed up on any of his tests. So for now I'd just watch him. And keep weighing him.

Jack is a pretty boy:)
Please keep an eye on the cage you have him in for now that he doesn't snap the bars. We had 4 of those cages attached together with my finches in them, and my conure landed on it and snapped a bar before I could get him off.

I want to apologize, I meant to add that Percy is a beautiful boy as well. I'm sorry for the omission:)
