The last couple of days when I have taken Abby out of her cage, she steps up without any issues. But when she is on my hand she starts shivering. Her breast feathers flair out and I can see her shiver just like she was cold.
I put her on top of her cage she runs to the back. When I approach her she will step up without any problems but she still shivers.
I have not done anything to her. Nor has her environment changed, the temperature is the same in the living room and her cage is the same.

What do I need to do?

Mike

OMG, same thing is going on with my blue-throated conure and i am really scared. My conure has not been acting like herself and acts exactly like yours. Did you get anywhere with it? Should I do something? I saw your post and I had to make an account so I can learn from your exprience. PLEASE HELP!

Hello, and welcome to the Parrot Forums family!

The particular member you quoted (from the Eclectus sub-forum. I've moved your question to its own thread in the Conure sub-forum since your bird is a conure) has not been online in over 3 years, but perhaps we might be of help. How long have you had your conure? Is she shivering all the time? Or only when you approach or take her out of the cage? How else is she not "acting like herself"?

Depending on the answer, this could be an expression of nervous energy or her attempt to warm herself. Would it be possible for you to provide a video?

I was gonna suggest the same thing. Without a video its very hard to offer any worthwhile advice.
