Parrots
Roscoe- english budgie
As of late when I talk to my little guy or come up to him at his cage, he will puff up (where the feathers cover his beak - he is an english budgie), close his eyes slowly and usually give me one big and very slow yawn. Its not a repetitive motion (so not panting), he usually just does it one time very slowly and calmly. Anyone know what this means? He will usually then chill for a few seconds all puffy and cute, then resume into full on chatter box mode.

My bird puffs up when he’s relaxed and happy and with me. And he does the yawn at me a lot, too. I’m pretty sure he is very relaxed and showing me so? Or maybe this yawn is a prelude to regurgitation?

Does that sound right?
