Raw Squash

Everything I read says cook it. I use this cheap steamer....takes only seconds in a microwave.

Raw squash is fine. Think raw zucchini. It’s just that a lot of the squash out there is very hard (butternut, acorn, etc). Cooking will soften it a bit.

I sometimes add raw squash to my birds' chop. Prefer harder varieties because it doesn't go mushy in the chop.

Yep, my guys love raw butternut squash...it's a bit softer than some of the other types, but they also like raw zucchini...totally fine for them as long as your individual bird can chew it/eat it...

I haven't been able to Google the answer to this when I have tried lol. And I have tried numerous times.
Lots of people say yes, and lots say no. I am guessing that if it were killing parrots then there wouldn't be a 50/50 split like that, so I am guessing that it is fairly safe----
DONT GIVE THEM THE SKIN THOUGH, AS I HAVE GOTTEN SQUASH COATED IN SOMETHING THAT APPEARS TO BE A WAX...it could be natural, but I am not convinced...It was literally like candle wax after a few weeks.
