I purchased a 7 week old green cheek conure, and I'm just wondering if his behaviours are normal. I brought him home yesterday; he's still on formula twice each day. He seems pretty energetic inside his cage (he kind of hangs upside down from its top and walks around upside down, and chews on his toys all day).
Anyway, I noticed that he doesn't run away when I approach him, but he stiffens up. When he's outside of his cage, he looks for a corner to hide in. He's never bitten me, and he doesn't protest when I pet him. Is it normal for him to be kind of distant? Because my friend told me hand fed birds are instantly sweet.
