regurgitation and runny nares

I got my Amazon about a month ago and didn't notice at the time but one of his nares was closed over with a film of dried mucus. I have since softened and removed it with coconut oil but it still has a clear drainage at times and tries to do this again. It's not very bad drainage but I'm concerned it may be an illness of some sort. He also had a good amount of regurgitation. It's this a normal parrot thing? I know most birds do this some but his seems excessive. We do not have an avian doctor in our area so I haven't taken him to one. I have read that drainage can be caused from the regurgitation which can be from a vitamin a deficiency. In giving supplements and feeding as much greens as he will eat. He is acting completely fine health wise other than this. Any suggestions??

It sounds like he does need to see an avian vet...how far away is it to the nearest one?
Only they will be able to tell you for sure what is going on with him...may turn out to be something simple that antibiotics can fix. A good diet will certainly help, but may not be able to fix whatever is wrong without a vet's intervention.

Sometimes regurgitation can be confused with vomiting- I recently experienced this with one of my budgies. I would definitely get him to an avian vet who would be able to diagnose the issue -he could have an infection of some sort and may need antibiotics.

What is your general location? Someone may know of an avian vet in your area.
