I am watching Winston closely as I am sure the move from Florida to BC has been stressful. And, not to mention his experiences with loss and new people for a couple of years.

I noticed that after he eats he regurgitates it on a perch and then eats it. The lady who was watching him mentioned she had seen him do this. Could it be a survival thing as I know for awhile there may have been a high chance that my step-mom was forgetting to feed him. And, he was on a mostly seed diet. He has been on a fresh food diet with a little pellet for almost a year now. He loves food!

He is not vomiting as it is always in a neat pile. Thoughts? Poor little guy. He has gone through a lot. 🙁

Sunny does the same, I just chalked it up as one if the repetetive moves she taught herself while she was bored out of her skull by herself, caged in the single room.

Almost like she is producing her own comfort-food ...
(feeding/ getting feb by herself, in a mothering/ baby-ing way -> she produses the very thin baby-food as well, not just grown-up chunks the adults feed each other)

She also a very slow eater- almost if a treat should last as long as possible, because after that there will be nothing (interesting) for a very, very, very long time.

I think once you and Winston start working together he simply will be too busy to keep doings things like that.

Thank you! I am hoping it slows down, but he loves his food. He makes a cute little noise when he eats it. Almost like he is talking to a baby to finish up their food. It is just not appealing when I am trying to eat and I see him do this. But, I feel better knowing other birds do this and that he isn't vomiting.

Regurgitation is quite common with male ekkies. Don’t think anything of it.

I’m lucky my boy doesn’t do it. On the flip side, I have to cope with hormonal aggression - something not super common with males (they usually just want to regurg and masturbate). So there are trade offs.

Thanks! I haven't seen him do the other. And, he hasn't shown any signs of aggression. He is just cheeky!
