Rescued Sun conure mean to men

Hi,

We have 2 gold Caps and recently acquired a rescue Sun. The Sun is ok around women but very aggressive toward Men. I have been just sitting and talking, reading and playing music with him for a couple weeks now. I'm not rushing him but hope he will eventually come around. Can any of you suggest some additional techniques that I can use with him? so sad but I suspect the male human interactions he has had have been less than pleasant..

Hey welcome!

Depending what and how bad that treatment was, it is pretty unlikely he will forgive. Ask any significant males in your household to beware.

I'm amazed that these teeny, tiny birds don't hesitate to take on something the size of a human. What nerve!

Still, birds lose their mates in the wild, adapt and bond again. Never say never.
