I would love to go bike around the block with Rico as I have seen people do it with their birds before but I do have some safety concerns with it. Are there ways to prevent them?

1. The leash
I am nervous that the leash will get stuck in the chains and drag him off of me.

2. What if he falls off?
If he falls off he will be dragged and injured.

3. Cars
What if he gets spooked by a car? He will be on a harness ofc but Iā€™m just concerned he will freak out.

4. Could I attach a perch to my handlebar? If so, how?

I have a basket mounted in front of the handlebars.
I have put Bingo in my Pak o bird and mounted it to the basket.
He did not seem to enjoy it and I still feared for his safety in the event I dumped the by bicycle .

Hm, I would do this with a bird backpack vs a harness for those safety concerns. I'd be worried about the same things with a harness. I actually have wanted to try this with Ona is her backpack that she loves but I don't ride bikes very often.

Ah, Iā€™d have to get a whole new backpack then since mine is a mesh screen and is only good for car trips. Never mind then! Thank you for letting me know though!

Yeah, Iā€™ve decided against it. It was a stupid idea lol thanks for the input though!

The solution I came up with but have neverā€¦. Implemented.
a combination of used baby stroller with the pak o bird setting inside.
This would let my bird see where he is going (instead of riding on my back seeing where he has been).

I Know there are companies out there that make all in one pet strollerā€™s. Mostly for dogs/cats but could be modified easily. But they are pricey and I already have the expensive part of my hack.

Ah, thatā€™s too pricey for me! Also, Rico would almost certainly hate it!
