Of the 10 described subspecies, the Colombian or Red-Tailed Boa (Boa constrictor constrictor) is the best known, and is in fact one of the most popular snake pets. Commercially bred in huge numbers, the Colombian Boa is an excellent choice for some, but not all, snake enthusiasts.[/FONT]

I've never been a snake person, but I find them fascinating! I've always thought the Red Tailed Boa was a beautiful snake. I just viewed pics on the Internet, and saw how each varies. Some have coloration and patterns that are breathtaking.

I didn't realize how large they get! If a mid sized specimen has certain markings, would it stay that way into (large) adulthood, or does the color and pattern always change as they grow and age?

Ps.. I could never have a snake, I feel so sorry for the rodents LOL!

Hi Thanks for your interest; there's some variation, but most retain their color, esp as there has been many years of selective breeding, best, frank
