My budgie got stuck in the loop of this. He got out but still...have there been concerns about the shape? It's out of the cage now...

While I haven’t heard of that happening with this type of holder before, birds are really good at finding ways to get themselves in trouble! If an item proves dangerous, even if no one else has had that problem, I automatically remove it. It’s just not worth the risk in my opinion. You can attach a cuttle bone with a plastic zip-tie nice and tight so there’s no space for your bird to get a toe caught.

He does demonstrate an impressive knack for getting stuck ..I had to rescue him from the toilet paper when he first came to me. Good to know about the zip tie! New cuttlebone is in the works. We accidentally ran over his other one with the car.
