Saying thank you

I have seen where someone thanks a poster. How do you do this without doing a reply?

Ok so in the bottom right hand corner of the post box there is a little blue thumbs up logo that says thanks on it. If you click it under the post that you wan't to thank then it will thank them.

Thanks. Apparent I wasn't logged in (thought I was) and it does not show up unless you are logged in. Oops, I feel silly.
