Scarlet got a big scare today, me and dean were just sitting on the bed just on the laptop n phones, no noises going on except the cars and trucks going by which goes on pretty much 24/7, scarlet was enjoying a sprout meal on her perch ontop of her cage and randomly started screaming as she flew towards me, knocked over my Maccas cup of drink, and landed half on me and half a wing on the bedside table. She was shaking, something really scared her :( nothing I seen, but something she did I guess, or heard. Hmm not to sure. Five mins later n she is enjoying another lot of sprouts inside her cage now chatting away to us lol. I don't know what it was but the poor girl was so scared :(
Cuddles from mummy fixes everything ;) haha

aww, its horrible when you don't know what caused it, makes it hard to fix.

Loki one morning was doing the same, chomping on grapes and then suddenly started flapping horribly. Scared the bajesus outta me.

cuddles sound like the best remedy :)

hope she's okay x

Thats horrible! Poor Scarlet, hope she's alright!

Maybe she saw something. I remembered once Ozzie was on the ground playing, and then a car drove by, the light was very bright, and we have a mirror kind of thing infrount my door. And the reflect of the light went straight past Ozzie. He got so scared and was running to me for hugs!

It may be something that has changed in the room or on ur body for instance I bowl a lot and if I leave a peace of tape on my fingers my birds act very cautious and scared its crazy how well they can tell a change

Poor Scarlet! :( Maybe it was an insect or spider of some sort?

Nothing's changed, I had a look around her cage there was no bugs or anything either! so I have no idea :( at least she is ok now! Just wish I knew what it was so I could stop it from happening again!

Poor Scarlet glad mommy was there for her
Hope it never happens again

Me too!
If only she could tell me like Mishka did! :(

Aww, poor Scarlet! I had an incident like that with my German Shepherd about a month ago but it went on and on throughout the night. I swear she saw a spirit or something unusual. Her heart was beating out of her chest and she was trying to escape into the closet but that wasn't helping so she then dove into another dark corner knocking anything and everything in her way. It was weird! I thought she was going to die--really! And then she settled down and was fine since. Unlike you, my mommy hug wasn't cutt'n it that night. Gotta love our fur/feathered kids and kiss away their boo boos.

I've had similar with my kitten, sometimes she is laying down, then looks up, jumps up and runs backwards while looking in one spot. And other times I have seen her focusing on something, as if there is a little butterfly I front of her flying around that I can't see!
I also thought spirits. I think animals can see things we can't.
My APBT is always seeing things aswell, and barking at something that isn't there, it's creepy!

Yes, it is a bit creepy when they are staring off looking at something and we see nothing! So maybe Scarlet is a seer!

I received an order from MySafeBirdStore (which I loved by the way) and in it was this little purple tea cup. For some reason when my macaw saw it she was scared to death! Why? Any time it comes into her view she literally freaks out.

My mums Alex was the same with a bath thing we put in her cage, we had to take it out she freaks out with it. It's weird!
