any one got any god tips on being able to stop my blue front from screeming .
he is just over a year old and screems as soon as he hears me get up. when im in from work he screems i get him out for a while then when i put him back he screems

When, not often now he scream then I place Ville on the cage in a separate room and close the door. Then after a hour or so, if he is not screaming I go for him again.

Welcome to the forum. Does your BFA have anyone that he doesn't like?? When he screams ,send in the "bad guy", just stand beside his cage until he stops and then leave. When he's quiet and calm ,you go get him and play. At some point he needs to learn to entertain himself somewhat. You need to help him out with toys, foraging devices, or just a good nap (quiet time around my house). PS the "bad guy" things works quickly , just need a weekend where the "bad guy" can be available all day. Good luck,,he hasn't even got to the" terrible two's" yet !!! Something else,,,, socialize him more. Right now his world is you, food, and his cage. Get him a travel cage that you can carry around easily.Get him used to playing in/on it and then start taking him places, meet people, see different sights and sounds. Mine love to go places. They'll love you just as much but will be happy , well adjusted, and outgoing. If you're not keeping him near the center of activity in your house ,you should move him there, just my .02 worth.

That's fantastic advice!

My green cheek screeched a lot when I first got him, he also wouldnt let me handle him.
Now though, he lets me pick him up (with a perch) and take him out of his cage. Now that Im able to handle him more, hes a lot quieter.
Also, he squaks when he cant see me, so his cage is placed where he can see me a lot.

Is there a lot of commotion in your house? If so, that may be a cause. Whenever my toddler cries Max starts squaking (though now my toddler will squeal on purpose to make Max squak.)

Those are the main causes Ive found for Max screaming; loud noises and wanting to see/be near me.
Toys are a good idea too, though I know it can be hard to get them to play with toys. Max is pretty much anti-toy, the only times Ive heard his bell is when he accidentally brushes against it. I guess in time he will leearn. If you have trouble getting him to play with toys, Ive heard you could take him out of his cage and play with a toy on your lap, to try and get them interested.

Hope that helps.

henpecked thanks for yuou advice he likes all the people that come round :/ tell me more about the terrible twos .. i think im getting them early. i like the sound of a carry cage :)

max.zilla. my parrot has no trouble with coming out on my arm he is pretty abidiant comes on command and has learnt a few little tricks .loves playing with toys. we have a dog but cant see that causing it . this problem has been going on for about a month now i think it is a problem with being able to see me / be with me .all the time .

ive have got a little theory i think may work. when he screams leave the room wait however long it is for him to stop. then when he whistles or talks, walk into the room click the clicker then praise him with a scratch or tickle and talk to him for a bit .. then hopefully he will associate whistling and talking to get my attention and me walking into the room rather than that awfull screeming

Sounnds like he's doing a contact call and that he wants to spend time with you.
