Rest in Peace Rio
For those of you that give seed as an occasional treat, is there a particular brand or type you use?

lafebers :) nutri berries nut loves them, tropical fuits ones lol

I feed seeds and grains daily. I make my own food and the boys love it.

Volkmans Hookbill seed because it has no peanuts or sunflower seeds.

Ralph regularly gets some safflower seed. I've tried a few different brands and mixtures containing it; he seems to favor the Kaytee safflower blend parrot food. I fish out any other things that Ralph won't or shouldn't eat, and feed some of them to the wild birds. Ralph isn't crazy about sunflower seeds anyway, which makes it easy to keep them out of his daily diet-- and the wild birds appreciate the ones Ralph saves for them. :)

I, too, give Max Nutri-berries. They have a variety of flavors, and Max loves them. I give her a couple every day.

River loves nutriberries too. I put them in his foraging wheel, hide them in toys, etc.

Safflower seeds are Rio's FAVORITE! (besides millet of course) I used to give her a little pinch of safflower seeds every day or two as a treat, but just realized how wonderful they will be for training...SOoo she no longer gets them unless we are training. I used to buy a mix that had them in it but she would just eat them and leave everything else behind, so at my local little bird store they sell them by themselves so I started buying them alone. I buy her pellet from Dr.Foster and Smith website because nobody around here carries it (Caitec "Oven Fresh Bites") and they also sell safflower by itself so I will probably just start ordering them when I order her food.
