Seizures blue and gold macaw

My bird Elmer has been having seizures, some bad, some not to bad. It does not happen every day, just maybe once a moth or every two months. They usually happen at about 4am in the morning. What can I do to help stop these from happening? Elmer in about 40 years old, I have had him for over 30 years now. These started a few years back, but then faded away, now they have started again and some are really bad.

Has anyone changed the birds diet and had it stop the seizures? I have been told get him some vitamins, does that help? He is always fine after, but do not like watching him go through it.

You really should have Elmer checked out by a qualified Avian Vet ( and not a dog/cat vet).
