Baby Senegal - not yet home
Here's a picture of Maui after his daily shower. After last weeks vet appointment I am also wrapping him in a towel as training. He likes it. Little stinker.

All blood test came back okay. Now I have 4 - 6 months to stop him from chewing flight feather or the vet will put a cone on him. This weekend I bought a bunch of foraging toys and made some home made treat holders, also lowered all his perches.

As directed by the vet I will take weekly photos to see improvement. I will post photos soon, he has really chewed them up. Hope I will start to see improvement.

He is adorable! Quick question, did your vet say to shower him daily? If not my vet does not recommend this due to the fact that if the bird doesn't fully dry daily it could cause a type of fungus. I would think that they would dry off however he says that this type of fungus comes from the bird being damp for extended periods of time. He likes the birds to be showered no more than a couple times a week. My rb2 loves showers, it is so tempting to get him in there more than 2x a week! LOL

What a cute picture of him.
I wish my birds could take a nice shower every day.
I leave my house when it's too early and come home when it's getting dark, specially now after time change. So, it's only the weekends when my birds can enjoy a good shower. They love it.
Your baby is lucky!

Maui sure looked happy after the shower
Love the pic

I shower Mishka each morning before going to work, he absolutely loves it
During the winter months he gets blow dried after showering

Good luck getting him to stop destroying his feathers!!! They can be pig headed once they're determined to do something....

Adorable! What a cute baby.

I'm starting to think that my vet may be being overly cautious! I would love to give Nigel a shower every day! I would love to hear if others are doing this as well!

Nope, my fids get a thorough soaking no more than 3 times a week, most often twice a week. :)

Yes, he did. With that said we are in Southern California. I believe his focus is to keep him from thinking about chewing. I will double check with him. Thanks.

I am having challenge getting a photo of his wings opened. I want a picture so badly to see if I can detect any improvement.

I do blow dry too. But I am sure location matters. We are dry and warm here.

If he doesn't show improvement in 4 to 6 months the vet said we will need to put a cone on him. :) this plan has to work.

My Caesar sits on the top of the shower every day and I let the hot water run with windows shut. The room fills with steam which he loves. I spray him with a water bottle (temped water) once a week and he sits in the sun to dry ...LOVES IT!!:)
