Hello. My name is Brad and I live in Virginia with three parrots: (1) Giblet (Gibby) who is a female Blue Front Amazon well over 40 years old; (2) Doppler (Doppy) who is a 9 year old Male Eclectus Parrot; and (3) Peaches, who is a 10 year old Cinnamon Conure.

Gibby started staying mostly in the bottom of her cage yesterday and walks very wobbly.... she is playful, eating and drinking and all else seems normal. She will not perch! Any suggestions/ideas/help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum.

I'm so sorry to hear about Gibby. Please take her to an Avian Vet as quickly as possible. Birds are masters at hiding any ailments/diseases, until it's often too late.

You said you were in Virginia, here is one place I found by doing a quick Google search. I don't know how far it is from you though.

Welcome, and I'm sorry your bird is sick. Wendy is right, don't wait until it's too late to take her to the vet. Even a common cold can kill a bird. It's always best to get them seen by an experienced AV, diagnosed on on treatment ASAP. Best of luck with her!

Where in Virginia are you? Bluemont Veterinary in Purceville has three avian vets and Pender in Fairfax (while expensive) has an avain vet on call 24/7.

Hi and welcome! Please do take Gibby to an AV asap. At her age, we shouldn't wait!
