silly things i have to do

I was just giggling to myself, I wonder if i'm any different from others.

I just realised that if i now want to eat a biscuit, or potato chips or indeed any form of 'human snack', I find i have to eat them in a room that Enzo is not in else she is straight over and wanting to share. Even when she is not aware of my snacking, im eating or unwrapping them quietly.

When im cooking eggs, I feel i cant break the eggs when she is around.

Quite rediculous really...... the things i have to do.

Do you guys have any other such things or am i just weird

LOL-- I was just telling another member that I have to open chips like 2 rooms away or Noodles FREAKS OUT about wanting some. ESPECIALLY XXX Flamin' Hot Cheetos and Chesters Hot Fries...

Aside from that,
I have to always plate her a separate salad (un-dressed) if I am going to eat one, because she will insist...
Cookies must remain hidden at all times lol--you can't even bake them around her---one look at the mixing bowl and flour/sugar and she turns into a full-on junkie .
Peanut butter and yogurt also are popular in her list of demands
Recently, she has become OBSESSED with this BeachNut baby food (that isn't very good for her, but I was feeling nice, so I mixed some in with her oatmeal and she saw me....it's the banana, pineapple, orange variety, so she got very little, but ever since then, if she sees the container, she loses her mind lol.

OH-- and she's scared of baguettes--- the really long, thin ones that come in paper lol!

I just realized, this is kind of exactly like it is with kids lol! I have to sneak food around my students (or plan a good time to eat it) or they will all ask for some/ ask a million questions about it/comment on it.

My mom also used to have a secret stash of candy in the laundry room when we were kids, and she would go in there to eat it (1. to keep it from us --because what kid doesn't want candy all of the time? and 2. to save some for herself! ) lol

awesome replies, Enzo has a small earthenware bowl that I plate up for her at meal times, initially that wasnt good enough for her as she wanted to eat from the big plate and eat the big portions but she is eventually realising that dads plate is out of bounds..
Enzo also has a cup of warm tea every morning, she drinks quite a lot and it must be served in her own china cup or else she isnt happy lol.

they are like 3-4yr old children in so many ways, agreed.

Salty LOVES pizza. I think he even understands when we order it to be delivered, because he is waiting on his next-to-the-couch place, eagerly hopping from foot to foot before its even delivered. He only gets a small piece of crust, but oh how he loves that small piece.

Oh, I’m the biggest idiot of all.

Archie gets around three vegetable meals a day, small portions. He’s almost like totally off seed, except for the Nutriberries and good nuts I ration out by hand throughout the day.

He also gets a fruit meal, maybe two, but again, small portions. And like a shmuck...

I anthropomorphize it, thinking I have to give him the fruit AFTER the vegetables, like it’s a dessert to him and he’ll know the difference and won’t tip the waiter.

Rocco loves MY potato salad, but he won't touch any pre-made potato salad I may buy from the supermarket. He doesn't see it until it's on the plate, but somehow he knows the difference without tasting. For years I've tried tricking him into eating supermarket potato salad with me, but he won't touch it. Same with mashed potatoes. He'll only touch it if it's homemade.

Edited to add: He hates it when I eat salad. He tries to throw the plate on the floor.

If I blow my nose around Lilly she Loses Her Mind. When I had a head cold last year she would come running from wherever she was, slam herself into my shoulder, fuzz up and click her beak threateningly at me and launch herself into my face whenever I got a tissue out. Trying to blow one’s nose while laughing at a tiny marauding lorikeet in full attack mode does get very messy indeed.

I’m not allowed to wear the color turquoise. The bathroom is a pretty sketchy place and I must keep the door closed at all times. Don’t even THINK about opening the medicine cabinet. And after putting Bumble to bed for the night, I have to go rattle around in the kitchen making a lot of noise for several minutes. Alternatively I can sit in the chair right next to her cage. If I do neither, she cheeps and chirps until I correct myself.

I can relate! I can sneeze around my sun conure, Boomer, but God help me if I try blow my nose, no matter how daintily I do it.

I also can't type long sentences on my computer. Just very short ones otherwise Boomer will start typing on the keyboard with his beak. If I keep going, he will then walk all over or park himself in the middle of the keyboard and chase my fingers away until I stop typing.

Dont mention keyboards! Enzo picked every single key from my work laptop in the time i went to the loo. I had to get a new laptop..... bless her grrrrrr
