Skittles flew!

Skittles came to us last year as a baby with severely clipped wings. Yesterday Maalik flew rather close to the java tree where Skittles was hanging out, and scared him into flying all the way across the room to where I was. What a beautiful sight to see him use his beautiful violet wings for the very first time!

I think we both looked rather shocked. I knew his flight feathers had grown in, but Skittles hadn't discovered his abilities until he'd been spooked by Maalik, the grey stealth bomber.
