Hello! I have an almost 7 month old sun conure named Phoebe.
Over nearly the last month I’ve been using something I made for her.
I took one of the boxes I have saved and turned it into a large foraging area for her! The best thing is that it’s easily transported. I also recently got a play stand for her.
She’s loving both of them! She’s also trusting me more and more because of all the new enrichment she has outside her cage.
I did spot something of slight concern, mostly concerned if it’ll become an issue later.
The attached image shows the forage area, focused on one of the corners.
Today as she was playing in the box, she sat on the edge on the corner, she likes chewing that area.
When I brought my finger up to ask for her to step up, she hung from the edge and lowered herself to mostly only her head peeked over, and without me moving, she playfully lunged forward a little bit and gave me a singular, gentle but firm bite. It didn’t seem mean.
She acted that way with a piece of paper I was using to play with her.
I’m wondering if this could become an issue? I’m thinking about the possibility that she may be getting territorial over that spot, or maybe she was feeling extra playful.
I don’t have a video, but to me it seemed like she was feeling playful, but I don’t want her to become territorial over the area.
I would appreciate any advice!
