What a cute baby! When is he coming home?

Well, it was supposed to be next weekend, but the breeder said he/she is slow to wean, so it may be longer. Everyone here recommended just letting the breeder wean the bird completely rather than try to finish it myself, so it may be another 1-2 weeks. Who knows! :(

I feel your pain... my little guy was supposed to be home with us almost a month ago, but again this weekend he still isn't ready, so another 2 weeks to go. Gotta be patient... ARRGGGG

What a gorgeous baby! His colours take my breath away:)

What a pretty baby! We just picked up our new Turquoise baby this week... she weaned a little ahead of schedule, so we weren't quite ready, but I have to say, it's been fantastic! She's a GREAT eater... already eating, very happily, her veggie chop, pellets, seeds, and whatever we have that she wants! (She is not bashful about making her wishes known!) ;)

Having done it both ways, (Yes, I admit it... I finished weaning our 1 y.o. yellow-sided over spring break last year), I highly recommend letting your breeder finish the job! I loved it, but it is extremely time consuming, and I was a nervous worry-wart the entire time!!!

AND, our new little friend has been extremely lovey/affectionate with all of us from the very first second we met her, completely dispelling the myth that hand-feeding/weaning yourself will bond them to you!

Just my 2 cents, I'm no expert!!! Good luck, he/she is beautiful!

*For those of you who are getting ready to throw stones, I had previous experience hand-feeding... baby ducks and spraddle-leg pheasant chicks, different I know, and I worked with our breeder, not a 5 minute lesson & out the door you go hope it works lesson, and yes, I was still nervous and worried when it took longer than I expected! I am not advocating hand-feeding!!! :)

That's a great story Jenny - thanks for sharing!

Awwww, what a pretty little conure!!!! He/she looks so sweet! My Fiji is a turquoise GCC, I miss her baby days, lol. We brought home Sundance when he was only 8 weeks old. Even though he was completely weaned, he didnt get as much handling from the breeder as Fiji did (we brought her home when she was 12 weeks old.) So he wasnt as friendly and easy to work with as Fiji. I wish I would have left him there longer.

Can't wait to see more pics of your new baby!

So pretty! I was deciding between a Turquoise and a Pineapple and went with Pineapple, but seeing your baby has be thinking about a second....one day lol.

I love turquoise GCC. Too bad my breeder sold all of them as soon as he has any clutch. Even though he is selling them for 3.6 times more than a Yellow Sided, he never had to advertise to sell. He has one clutch per year, he sold all of them long before they hatch. I settled for a Yellow Sided, no regrets!
