Soft Birds

so I have noticed that Parker my BF zon is very soft and that Keiko my BG Macaw is not(I'm referring to the top feathers not the downy ones)...Is this a species thing or is it because Parker is only 10 months old

I'm venturing a guess and say it's because Parker is a baby. My Sam (he's also 10 months) is an incredible softy compared to Hunter (she's 14). But then again, Niko is remarkably soft, and Ripley is slowly getting there after several thorough showers and a wide variety of good food.

Don't get me wrong, Hunter is also soft, and sleek, and shiny, just not as soft as the Samster.

Sam is currently going through one heck of a molt, so we'll see how soft he'll be once he's all done with it.
