He really hates this chicken :green:

Some people believe this is a good thing, letting out pent up rage on one specific thing sorta thing.

He seems like a good boy really, despite his determination to claw out poor chickys eyes!

What would happen if they have a little baby around. To me, I see bad things happening here with this type of training.

sorry agree with mike fully, nut use to attack me like that!

i would never encourage this kinda behaviour, what happens when that bird gets hormonal? or worse passed onto some1 with no idea what that bird has been encouraged, taught to do.
we all know how our birds can be super charming till the honeymoon period is over

i agree our birds need there anger release toys, but we should never encourage attack behaviours, especially through fear or jealousy of an object

I do agree they need to be VERY careful when teaching a bird to do this, but if this is the only thing he'll let his aggression out on, then I believe it's fine, as long as that is truely the only thing.

Merlin gets aggressive towards anything that is 'waved' near him or at him. We have to warn people because of this that you're not to wiggle your finger at him in play or being told off for something. They're asking for a bite and we can't trust him to only target one specific thing that's 'wiggled' so we don't trust him at all.

I admit it made me laugh, but I think I have to agree with everyone else that it could be a bad idea. We do have a member here whose amazon has been dive bombing and attacking her mother and kids.

lol i think merlin would get over that in time, nut has lol she use to hate the waggy finger of *do as your told :)

but that is easier to tell some1, then oh my bird has been taught to fly and attack, don't resemble a chicken or wear yellow

Yikes!! Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling like this might not be a good idea. Maybe flying from his cage to your arm and back would be a better way for him to get his exercise.

Lol, Suebee, I hope no one I know resembles a chicken!

lol you aint been round my way???

but on a serious note, its really what the bird could perceive as an attack command, and how many of us hold small babies, children in that manner to play with them

Poor bird! This bird is terrified, that this toy is going to attack his people... and on and on it goes...

Please... do treat this bird with some respect and kindness...

Not good in my opinion. The Amazon clearly doesn't think this is funny and is showing aggression because it is afraid I believe. He is NOT PLAYING! And laughing when he is showing aggression like that is telling him it's ok to react in that manner. Can only cause problems in the future...

Take that toy away!

Thanks for all your input. But sonny does not do that to anything or anyone else. I take sonny to the board walk and he takes tons of pictures with ppl (kid and adults) and never bit anyone.

Aw, he looks like a very happy bird :) I love the first picture of him flying on his harness, he's like a birdie kite lol
