There is a major project on iNat that is requesting folks take photos of any dead migrant birds you find in the SW United States (Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, etc).


Sad stuff, but important.

Very sad, this is ideal location.

Well, those locations are the Gateway into the North American Migration paths from Central America. The Pacific Migration Pathway and the Mississippi Pathway. Combined they represent up to 80% of South and North bound migrations.

It is interesting they are watching these Pathways as I have not noted any discussions regarding any uptick in deaths in the Great White North of Canada. But haven't been watching closely either.

Wonder if H1N1 has returned or West Nile?
