I am going to the co-op tomorrow that I scouted out last week, wrote down everything they had and then came home and checked to see what was bird safe and what wasn't. I want to try sprouting for my Eclectus and mixing up a sort of chop for them. I've never done this before so any input is much appreciated. I was planning on chopping up different vegetables and mixing sprouts in.

This is some of what I'm planning on bringing home:)

Adzuki
Mung
Sprouting peas
Lentils
Chickpeas
Brown rice
Hulless barley
Quinoa
Whole oats

Then different vegetables. The vegetables are best raw.....right? Anything special I need to do with the legumes or do I just soak and then sprout?

When everything is done sprouting I mix in the chopped veggies and then serve, correct?

Does this sound alright for Eclectus? They are also getting TOPS Pellets.

Where at in Minnesota? My mother was from Iowa & I always enjoyed the homemade food in farm country restaurants & figured that once you got things figured out, it might be worth dropping by for lunch sometime ! ! !

We're in southeast MN, we are a large family and my Mom always says when you're cooking for this many, what's 1 or 2 more?! :D

Does my "plan" sound alright for the Eclectus?

Yes, sorry I didn't address your food plan, maybe that's what sparked the family restaurant commentary, but your plan sounds like a good starting point.....

Great! Thanks! All excited to start! :D

There are inexpensive (under $20) from Amazon. The only problem I have is they work so well, I have sprouts go bad before feeding.

Thanks for the info! I started everything soaking, only got a little bit so I could see how everything goes and if my birds like it.
