Sprouts & sprouting

Ok, I've read that sprouts are very good and was wondering where you all buy your sprouts and the containers etc. Also will these places have the instuctions on how to do this? I have a 3 1/2 month old red-sided male Eclectus. Thanks in advance

Grocery store has them here. And why we are on this subject is wheat grass good for parrots?

You need to be careful when buying seeds for sprouting. Many of the ones you may buy in a grocery store or health food store will not give you a good seed that will have a high percentage of sprouts. Here is where I buy them.

Certified Organic Sprouts, Sprout Mix for Parrots, Avian Naturals Preservative free parrot foods. As for directions you can find that on the net if you search how to sprout for parrots. containers are just a mason jar with a screen cut to cover the top.

We got our sprouter, an EZ Sprouter, from our breeder when we brought Jade home. They're kind of hard to find in stores where we live. We have 2 now just to keep up with our flock.

I get my sprout mix from an organic "farmers market" in our area and order pumpkin seed from nutsonline.com.
